Garage Sub-Panel, Electrical Recommendations
-Recommend Further Investigation/Repair by Professional -Service Sub panel in Garage was not active while reviewed -If the two bus bars are not connected; as would be the case anywhere other than the main disconnect (exceptions exist), then it is not recommended to mix them. Any sub-panel after the primary service from there is recommended to have an isolated neutral. Review with a professional is recommended -Service Panels are not recommended near ignitable materials such 17 / 90 HIP Service & Solutions, Inc. as a storage area or in a clothes closet. Nor in crawl spaces or in a recessed area over a ledge or concrete or dirt shelf found in partial basements -Service Panels are not recommended in an area with less than 78" (inches) of head room, or over any permanently mounted counter space or work bench, or over any large appliances such as laundry equipment, cabinets, vanities, sinks, tubs, water pumps, water softeners, sump pump holes, water heaters and the like-You must maintain at least 36" (inches) of clear approach with no obstructions below, in front of, or above the distribution panel-It is recommended to maintain a dedicated width of at least 30" in which the panel may be mounted. The entire 30" width of wall space must be reserved -"Knockouts" holes were covered with "duct tape" -Panel has dust, wood chips on the interior. This may pose a hazard recommend cleaning/repair by professional -Recommend updating panel -More than one neutral and/or ground wires were observed under one lug on the bus bar (appeared to be several instances).
